ALIVE – Alternatives to Living In Violent Environments
Providing shelter, healing, and hope for adults and children affected by intimate partner violence.
This installation is an act of awareness and a prayer for peace. In the organic world, we see interconnectedness, synergy, and universality between ecosystems, entities, and forms. There seems to be a natural rhythm, a cosmic dance, a mysterious energy that flows toward inherent balance. Yet in our human spaces, we still too often face division, power struggles, and attempts to control one another: sometimes through force, intimidation, or even physical violence.
Here in this imaginary realm, you may create your own myth of mutualism. You may find yourself as an intergalactic observer, exploring places where even the strangest forms find ways to cooperate. What if everyone could matter equally? What if everyone’s needs could be met collaboratively, rather than competitively?
Here, you are invited to dream and imagine —not as an escape but as a tool of resistance. Imagination becomes a quiet act of defiance, one that insists tenderness, belonging, and joy can grow even in places marked by harm. I welcome you to enjoy a playful perspective as we collectively co-create the myths and hidden narratives that bring the peaceful entities in this room to life.
