I stumbled across Adaptive Climbing Group (ACG) in spring of 2016. ACG supports adaptive climbers logistically and financially. I was accepted to join their competition team in May of 2016. Because of their support, I was able to travel to Atalanta, Georgia to compete in the USA Climbing Adaptive National’s were I received 3rd place in my climbing division.
Placing 3rd, awarded me a spot to compete in the 2016 World Parclimbing Championship! ACG helped coordinate my GoFundMe page to raise money for travel expenses. The GoFundMe page includes more pictures and information about my climbing journey and 2016 accomplishments. See excerpt below:
“I want to use this opportunity to inspire those with different abilities to get involved with adaptive sports. I also want to raise awareness for Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and show the world why early diagnosis and proper treatment of the condition can save lives!”
